Justice V Jagannathan granted the stay when the criminal petition filed by Kumaraswamy seeking quashing of proceedings in the case came up.
Meanwhile, the anticipatory bail application filed by Kumaraswamy in the same case, was adjourned to July 26.
On July 4, Lokayukta Court judge N K Sudhindra Rao directed the Superintendent of Police (Lokayukta) Bangalore Urban to investigate a complaint filed against Kumaraswamy by Mahadevaswamy and submit its probe report by August 17.
In his complaint, Mahadevaswamy, a BJP worker, accused Kumaraswamy of illegally denotifying about 2.24 acres here for "pecuniary gain causing loss of about Rs 55-60 crore to the state exchequer".
Besides Kumaraswamy, 18 others, who are close associates of the JDS leader, have been named in the complaint.
