While hearing Kapur's plea for anticipatory bail plea, Justice P K Bhasin granted him interim anticipatory bail till September 7 and said, "It is ordered that if the applicant/ accused is arrested in the intervening period, he shall be released on bail till the next date subject to his furnishing a personal bond of Rs 25,000 with one surety in the like amount to the satisfaction of the arresting officer."

The court, however, directed the accused to report to the investigating officer (IO) tomorrow at 4 pm and also ordered the IO to fix a date for Kapur's appearance.

"It is, however, made clear that this grant of interim relief to the applicant-accused and direction to him to report to the investigation is not an expression of opinion of this court on his entitlement to get regular anticipatory bail," the court also said and fixed September 7 as the date for further hearing of the case.

The Crime Branch of Delhi police had on July 30, 2012 registered an FIR against Kapur under Sections 420 (cheating), 468 (forgery for cheating), 471 (using the forged document) and 120-B (conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code(IPC) on the allegations that he had managed to get a job in the 2010 CWG Organising Committee in July 2009 on the basis of a fake Delhi University degree.
