The Madras High Court today granted time till October 31 to the Tamil Nadu Government to complete all the deficiencies that were pointed out by two-member Advocate Commissioners in the Rs 179-crore Anna Centenary Library here.

The first bench comprising Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice R Mahadevan granted the time after the government sought time to complete the deficiencies pointed out by the Advococate Commissioners.

The High Court had on February 26, directed the Commission members P T Asha and P Sunder to visit the library to verify the factual position on the alleged deficiencies in the Rs 179 crore library and submit a report on a PIL by one S T Manonmani.

Stating that it will order for further inspection by the Advocate Commissioners after rectification of all the deficiencies, the bench posted the matter for further hearing to November 4.

The AIADMK government had proposed to convert the library, built by the previous DMK regime, into a Super Specialty Hospital for children.
