The Calcutta High Court today held the 2013 exams for primary Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) as valid.
Some candidates who failed the exam had filed an appeal before the court alleging the test conducted by the West Bengal School Service Commission should be treated as invalid because it did not comply with the guidelines laid down by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
Hearing the appeal, Justice Debangshu Basak said the candidates who failed to clear the exam have no locus standi to complain.
Over 18,000 candidates had cleared the exam and were appointed primary teachers by the state government.
