The Calcutta High Court today passed an interim stay on the tender process for publishing eight books floated by the West Bengal Higher Secondary Council for students of Class XI students.

Taking up a petition alleging "irregularities" in the tendering process, Justice Sanjib Banerjee stayed the process till July 11 when the matter would come up for hearing.

On April 29, the Council floated a tender for publishing eight books for students of Class XI.

Six publishing companies had responded to the tender and filed their bids.

However, Punascha Prakashani, one of the bidders, moved the court alleging irregularities in the tender process and prayed for its intervention into the issue.
