Hearing a writ petition filed by the brother of the lady doctor demanding a CBI probe into the case, a Division Bench of Chief Justice V Gopala Gowda and Justice B K Mishra asked the state government to furnish all the details pertaining to the police investigation made till date into the mysterious death of Pradhan.

The court also ordered that the state government must file its counter to the petition in the form of an affidavit within two weeks.

During the course of preliminary hearing of the matter on the day, petitioner advocate Nishikant Mishra appealed to the Court to direct the state government to trace the body of the deceased doctor and hand over it to her family for performing the last rites.

Nilakantha Pradhan, brother of the deceased has filed the writ seeking CBI probe into the death of his sister.

While police are claiming that the deceased committed suicide by jumping onto the railway tracks on October 12, the family members are insisting that Madhabilata Pradhan was murdered.

The government railway police (GRP) after retrieving the body of the lady doctor from railway tracks buried it without making an effort to trace the family of the victim.

Nilakanta's counsel Nishikant Mishra told the court if version of the GRP is to be believed, then why there is no trace of the body from the place where it was reportedly buried only a fortnight ago.
