Two judges of Orissa High Court today visited residential areas of Abhinav Bidanasi, the satellite city here to personally ascertain the civic problems of the residents.

Justice Madan Mohan Das and Justice Indrajit Mahanti, who presides over the civic problem Bench, reached Markat Nagar in the afternoon and went round the satellite city to have a first-hand account of the civic problems of the newly- developed residential area.

The district collector, vice chairman of Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) and the chairman of Cuttack Municipal Commission (CMC) were also present at the spot when the judges visited the area.

Expressing serious concern over dilapidated roads, poor drainage and sewerage systems of the satellite city, the two judges came down heavily on the government officials, said an advocate who is conducting cases pertaining to civic problems in the court.

While adjudicating over a PIL on the issue earlier this week, the judges had wished to personally visit the residential area to take stock of the ground reality.
