The Bombay High Court today dismissed a PIL challenging the RBI's decision prohibiting the general public from taking photographs of its building and premises in south Mumbai.
The PIL was filed by city resident Arul Mozhi Selvan, after the Reserve Bank of India in its reply to his letter stated that due to security concerns the general public has been restrained from taking photographs and video of its building and premises.
The RBI in its reply in January 2015 had said the land on which the building stands is owned by the central government and is in a prohibited area, and for the safety and security of the building and its staff photography and videography is not allowed.
