The Bombay High Court today dismissed a public interest litigation challenging allotment of 'hand' symbol to Indian National Congress on the ground that it is very similar to the logo of Maharashtra police.
A division bench headed by Chief Justice Mohit Shah said the PIL lacked any merit and a similar petition had been rejected by the Aurangabad bench of HC.
The PIL said that a common man may confuse the two symbols and equate Congress with police and think that the party maintains law and order.
