Alleging that Tamil Nadu Minister K P Rajendra Balaji had amassed wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income, a petition has been filed in the Madras High Court Bench here seeking registration of a case and an inquiry.
Petitioner R Mahedran sought the direction to the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) to enquire and register a case against the Minister based on his October 10, 2013 complaint.
He submitted that Balaji, the Minister for Information and Special Programme Implementation, had submitted in his affidavit filed when he contested the May 2011 assembly election that he was not an income tax assessee and did not have a PAN card. He had declared movable properties worth Rs 18.88 lakh and immovable assets worth Rs 19.11 lakh.

Stating that he had sent complaints to the DVAC Director and the Chief Secretary, he contended that no information had been given to him on the action taken by the anti-corruption agency.
