The Gujarat High Court issued notice to Anand district's BJP MP Dilip Patel today, acting on a plea which alleged that a village called Run was excluded from the recently created Vaso taluka in Kheda district, at Patel's behest.
Justice Abhilasha Kumari issued a notice to Patel along with the Revenue Secretary, the Settlement Commissioner and the Director of Land Records as well as district collectors of Kheda and Anand.
The High Court acted on a plea filed by Run village's sarpanch Jadiben Senva who alleged that the village was not included in the recently created Vaso taluka of Kheda district at the behest of a few politicians including Patel, and instead included in the Sojitra taluka of Anand district.

"As per a Revenue Department notification published on October 15, Run village was included in Vaso taluka of Kheda district after considering representation of villagers. However, on November 27, another notification was published by the same department, which excluded Run village from Vaso and included it in Sojitra taluka of Anand district," the petition said.
"Since Run village shares a boundary with Vaso taluka, villagers demanded it to be included it in Vaso. Though Sojitra taluka is 18 km away Run village, it was included in Sojitra at the behest of politicians including BJP MP Dilip Patel," Advocate Shushil Shukla told the High Court.
The petitioner demanded setting aside the state Revenue Department notification of November 27 and also sought the High Court's direction to include Run village in Vaso taluka of Kheda district.
After hearing both submissions, the Gujarat High Court directed the settlement commissioner of the state to put on record details of both notifications and posted the matter for further hearing after four weeks.
