The Delhi High Court today sought the Centre's response on a plea seeking cancellation of the Staff Selection Commission's Combined Graduate Level(CGL) examination on the ground that the test was held in April despite leakage of question papers prior to it.

Issuing notices to the Department Of Personnel and Training (DOPT) and Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva sought their replies by July 17 on a plea filed by Nitant Trivedi alleging that instead of holding a fresh examination in the light of question papers leak from three different centres including Delhi, SSC went ahead with the same question papers and held the examination.

Appearing for the petitioner, counsel N K Jha and Rahul Saini submitted before the court that Delhi police arrested 9 persons, including a policeman, in connection with the paper leak case on April 20 and the Combined Graduate Level examination on all India basis was held on April 21 and the result is yet to be out.

The counsel sought the court to pass an order granting stay on the result. However, the court declined to grant stay saying "the entire result would be subject to the outcome of this petition.
