The Calcutta High Court today directed CBI to investigate the disapperance of a teenaged girl from Nakashipara of Nadia district since March, 2013 following the state police's failure to trace her.

A division bench, comprising justice Indira Banerjee and Justice Saifullah Munshi, expressed displeasure at a report filed by the Superintendent of Police of Nadia district on the progress of investigation and directed the state police to hand over the case to CBI.

Naseer Khan, the father of the girl, had moved the high court seeking a CBI probe into the disapperance of his daughter and to trace her.

It was noted by the court that the father had been running from pillar to post to trace his daughter but the state police had allegedly done very little to investigate the case properly.
