The division bench of Chief Justice Arun Mishra and Justice Joymalyo Bagchi directed the Burdwan Superintendent of Police to provide security to Chitralekha, the widow of Tah and daughter Pritha and also to set up a police picket in front of their residence.
The bench also directed the additional chief judicial magistrate, Burdwan to record their statement and initiate proceedings against those allegedly threatening and taunting them.
The mother-daughter duo had written to the chief justice stating that they were being threatened and taunted since Pradip Tah's murder in February 2012 and had been asked by him to state their difficulties before the court.
