The Kerala High Court today quashed two notices issued by the Alappuzha District Collector alleging reclamation of paddy land by a private company in which former state minister Thomas Chandy is a stakeholder.

Justice A K Jayasankaran Nambiar ruled the survey numbers of the property mentioned in the notices were incorrect.

The court also pulled up the collector for issuing the notices with wrong survey numbers.

The court said that the collector did not verify the facts while preparing the notices. The government counsel admitted the error and assured it will be rectified.

The company had moved the court seeking quashing of the notices.
