The Goa unit of Aam Admi Party (AAP) today said the Bombay High Court order quashing the MoEF notification on the National Green Tribunal (NGT) was a "direct indictment" of Manohar Parrikar government.
The Bombay High Court today quashed the order of the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF), which had transferred the jurisdiction over Goa from the Pune bench of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) to its principal bench at New Delhi.
In a statement issued today, AAP's Goa convenor Elvis Gomes said the HC order is a direct indictment of the Manohar Parrikar government, at whose request the MoEF had issued the notification shifting jurisdiction of Goa cases from the Pune bench to the NGT's principal bench in Delhi.

"It is a slap on their face. The state government had acted clandestinely to put hurdles in the path of scores of Goa's environmentalists and green warriors toiling hard to protect Goa," Gomes said.
"Fortune has smiled on Goa with the HC order destroying the Parrikar-led political establishment's evil intent of obliterating Goa's vigilant green brigade to allow indiscriminate destruction of state's ecologically sensitive and scarce land resource for windfall kickbacks," he added.
According to Gomes, Goa has a strong case for demanding the NGT bench in the state with over 60 per-cent cases in Pune being filed from Goa.
