The Madras High Court bench here today rejected the bail plea of Tamil Nadu Forward Bloc leader Suresh who was arrested in connection with the murder of a Dalit leader and Puthia Tamizhagam worker at Srivaikuntam near here on February 22.

Justice P N Prakash rejected the bail plea after CB-CID DSP Ponnudurai opposed it saying Suresh would tamper with the witness.

One of the accused Maruthupandi had confessed that he had engaged people to murder PT worker Lakshmanan as per the instruction of Suresh, Ponnudurai submitted.

Police had recovered one revolver, six rounds of bullets and five swords from Suresh who was arrested on March 17 in connection with the murder. Nine cases had been registered against him and of these three were murder cases, Ponnudurai submitted.

Rejecting the bail plea, the judge said CB-CID had submitted that investigation into the background of the petitioner revealed that he had always planned to eliminate people of the other community who oppose his community.
