The Delhi High Court has restrained some Arya Samaj temples in Yamuna Bazar area here from holding any marriage after finding them indulging in irregularities.
Justice Hima Kohli restrained Sevak Mandal Arya Samaj, Arya Samaj Vedic Prachar Samiti, Arya Samaj Vedic Marriage Mandal, Arya Samaj Mandir Seva Samiti and Arya Samaj Vivah Mandir Trust from holding any marriage there.
The court passed the order after Arya Pratinidhi Sabha of Yamuna Bazar informed the court that it is the only registered Arya Samaj temple for the purpose of marriage of couples and it has nothing to with other Arya Samaj temples.

The court also directed police to go through the bank accounts and other records maintained by temple authorities over the past few years.
In its report, police said these temples were not legally registered and were involved in various irregularities including not following procedure of law, one of the counsel in the case said.
The report also said the temples don't maintain proper accounts.
The court passed the order after a case pertaining to a 12-year-old Muslim girl, who had eloped from her house to get married, was brought to its notice.
The temple authorities had allegedly arranged for the girl to be converted to Hinduism, so she could marry her boyfriend.
