Even as the ruling BJD tasted success in the previous urban local body (ULB) elections across the state, the relief material loot allegations against its corporators are going to haunt the party afresh.

Following the direction of the Orissa High Court on Thursday, the Cuttack Nagarika Committee is working out on drafting a detailed presentation to be presented to Cuttack DCP seeking penal action against all those corporators, who were involved in the looting of relief materials during the severe cyclone in October last year.

"We are drafting the detail representation and submit the same to the city DCP on Monday", informed the counsel of the Committee Satyabrata Pradhan.

The High Court on Thursday had observed that prima facie, it appears that the FIRs are cognisable and directed the petitioner committee to make a detailed presentation before the city DCP afresh. The single-judge bench of Justice S C Parija has also directed the city DCP to take appropriate action on the presentation of the petitioner as per law.
