A Division Bench comprising justices Amitava Lala and P K S Baghel passed the order on the writ petition of Rajesh Kumar Dubey who had alleged that irregularities to the tune of Rs 400 crore had taken place in the implementation of the rural employment scheme in Sonebhadra.
A preliminary objection was raised by the state government that similar writ petitions were pending before the High Court here as well as the Lucknow bench and hence the present writ petition was not maintainable.
The court, however, asked the state's standing counsel to file a counter-affidavit within three weeks.
