HC seeks report from administration on mob violence

The Jharkhand High Court today sought an action taken report from the administration in connection with disruption of traffic by a mob and vandalism following the murder of a woman at Kishoreganj in the city yesterday.

Taking suo motu cognizance of newspaper reports on the chaotic situation that had erupted following the murder of a woman and subsequent disruption of traffic, a division bench of Chief Justice Virendra Singh and Justice P P Bhatt asked the administration to place the report within two weeks.

Fixing the next hearing on August 14, the court also directed the Advocate General to talk to the police to find out ways to control such situations in future.
 

The mob obstructed traffic creating a dangerous situation for the students travelling by school buses with small children crying for help. A teacher ultimately took the children on foot to their respective homes.

Photographs of broken window panes and wind-screen of school buses were published in today's papers.
