HC stays further proceedings in sex scam

The Kerala High Court today stayed further proceedings in the "Varapuzha sex scam" case.

Considering the petition filed by Sobha John, prime accused in the case, Justice Abraham Mathew granted the stay.

According to the petitioner, there are totally 8 cases against her and the allegations are identical in nature.

Trial of two cases had started before Ernakulam Additional sessions court.

In August 2011, the police busted the sex racket allegedly run by Sobha John from Varapuzha. The victim had complained to police that she was allegedly offered to 200 persons ever since she was sold to Sobha John by her relatives in January 2011.
