The Madras High Court bench here today stayed an order of the Tamil Nadu Teachers' Recruitment Board (TRB) cancelling the process of recruitment of polytechnic teachers for 2017-18.
Justice G R Swaminathan was passing interim orders on a batch of petitions filed by 100 candidates who had applied for the posts, seeking to quash the February 9 TRB order, issued in the backdrop of allegations of tampering of the exam coding sheets to inflate the marks of select candidates.
The petitioners had submitted that the results and final key answers for non-engineering lecturers were released on November 7 last year.
But the results were withdrawn and revaluation ordered following some complaints.
During revaluation, discrepancies were noted only in 200 candidates, out of over 1,13,567 who took the examination in September, 2017.
It was unfair to cancel the entire recruitment process for the discrepancies related to 200 candidates, they had argued.
