The Delhi High Court today summoned the Registrar of Armed Force Tribunal for his failure to comply with its earlier order for fresh adjudication of a naval officer's plea who was awarded punishment of displeasure for alleged negligence on duty on board a submarine in 2002.
Issuing show-cause notices to the Principal Registrar and also a section officer of the AFT, a bench of justices S Ravindra Bhat and S K Mishra directed them to appear in person on April 1 before it and explain the reasons for non compliance of November 23, 2012 order.
The bench passed the order while hearing a plea of Lieutenant Commander Deepak Kanathey, filed through counsel Sukhjinder Singh, alleging that the AFT Registrar instead of complying with the order for re-hearing the case asked his counsel to get it corrected before the high court.
