The Madras High Court, which took serious view on the remarks made by P Annamalai, an IAS in connection with issuing of a community certificate to one person took suo motu contempt against him and ordered issue of notice to him for his personal appearance.
The Division Bench comprising Justice Sathish K Agnihotri and Justice P Devadass in their order said "already contempt proceedings were on against RDO Kavitha. Annamalai, , Secretary to Government, Adi-Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department suo moto impleaded in the case.
Notices were issued agisnt them asking why the contempt proceedings shall not be initiated against them for making scandalous remarks and also for interfering with the administration of justice.

The notice were returnable by November 24. They should present in the court.
One Perumal filed an affidavit stating that Kavitha had made a complaint to Annamalai that the court is threatening her.
The bench in its order said the "IAS officer had made scandalous and slanderous remarks against the counsel and judge.
