The Madras High Court has tightened the curbs against agitations by lawyers by banning setting up of cut-outs, flex boards besides distribution of pamphlets inside and outside court complexes in Tamil Nadu and Union Territory of Puducherry.
The Registrar (Administration) of the Court's Madurai bench, in a notification issued today, also said demonstration or any other type of agitation would not be allowed inside courts in the state and Union Territory of Puducherry.
Besides, he also banned the entry of persons inside court complexes before 8:30 AM and after 7 pm.

Courts in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry would remain open only from 8:30 AM to 7 PM, he said.
Meanwhile, members of the Madurai Bench High Court Advocates Association, who met here today, resolved to urge the Bar Council of India to withdraw its suspension of 15 advocates.
It also resolved that cases filed against the advocates who fought for Tamil language status in courts, should be withdrawn.
