The Kerala High Court today upheld the election of Congress leader Shashi Tharoor from Thiruvananthapuram Lok Sabha constituency.

Dismissing an election petition by BJP's Thiruvananthapuram District President S Suresh, Justice P Bhavadasan said the petitioner could not substantiate his allegations against Tharoor.

The petitioner had contended that Tharoor had failed to disclose his entire assets while filing nomination and suppressed material facts.

The court said when corrupt practice was alleged, it should be proved beyond any doubt.

The petitioner also complained that the MP did not disclose the details of assets of his wife Sunanda Pushkar which devolved on Tharoor after her death.
