HCL launches skills development initiative

HCL Corporation today launched a new skills and talent development programme 'HCL TalentCare', under which it will offer entry-level employment across sectors like IT, banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) and healthcare.

Under the programme, HCL aims to train over 20,000 people by 2018 from its three campuses in Manesar, Hyderabad and Chennai.

DBS inks pact with ASCL to create awareness about cyber crime * DBS Bank India today said it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Asian School of Cyber Laws (ASCL) to spread awareness about cyber theft and identify ways to mitigate these risks.

"DBS Bank has signed an MoU with ASCL -- a global pioneer in cyber law and digital forensics -- to raise awareness among consumers with respect to cyber theft and identify ways to mitigate these risks amidst increasing volume and sophistication of cyber threats," DBS Banks said in a statement.

Ashoka University doubles scholarships to Rs 21 crore * Ashoka University today said it will nearly double its scholarships to Rs 21 crore for the incoming undergraduate class of 2015.

As per the generous scholarship model endorsed by the University, each deserving student will be granted admission to the undergraduate programme on the basis of merit, irrespective of the individual's ability to pay the fees.

Carnation Hotel signs pact with N Krishnasamy and Sons * Carnation Hotels, the hotel management joint venture partner of Lemon Tree Hotels, has signed an operating agreement for the group's first Red Fox Hotel here with N Krishnasamy and Sons.

Lemon Tree Group operates three brands -- Lemon Tree Premier, Lemon Tree Hotels, and Red Fox Hotels -- and currently owns and operates 26 hotels in 15 cities with over 3,000 rooms and 3,500 employees, a company release said.

Airtel launches 4G trials for Chennai customers * Telecom major Bharti Airtel today announced the launch of 4G services on a trial basis in Chennai and said customers can now upgrade to the high speed Internet service at 3G prices.

"Airtel customers across Chennai can now avail a complimentary upgrade to Airtel 4G at 3G prices and be the first to experience blazing Airtel 4G speeds," Bharti Airtel said in a statement.
