Shares of HDFC Bank today fell by over one per cent even as the company posted 20.3 per cent growth in standalone net profit for the quarter ended on March 31, 2018.
The stock went down by 1.42 per cent to close at Rs 1,933.05 on BSE. During the day, it lost 3.37 per cent to Rs 1,894.85.
On NSE, shares of the company slipped 1 per cent to end at Rs 1,935.75.
In terms of equity volume, 2.44 lakh shares of the company were traded on BSE and over 38 lakh shares changed hands on NSE during the day.
HDFC Bank posted 20.3 per cent growth in its standalone net profit at Rs 4,799.3 crore for the quarter ended on March 31, 2018, compared to the year ago period.
Standalone total income for the quarter ended March 31, 2018 was Rs 25,549.7 crore, up from Rs 21,560.7 crore for the quarter ended on March 31, 2017, HDFC said in a statement on Saturday.
On the asset quality, it said gross non-performing assets (bad loans) were at 1.30 per cent of gross advances as on March 31, 2018, as against 1.29 per cent as on December 31, 2017 and 1.05 per cent as on March 31, 2017.
