HDFC shares up over 3 pc after Q3 earnings

Shares of HDFC Ltd today rose by over 3 per cent after the company reported more than two-fold jump in consolidated net profit for third quarter ended December 2017.

The stock jumped 2.66 per cent to end at Rs 1,953.25 on BSE. During the day, it gained 4.17 per cent to Rs 1,982.

On NSE, shares of the company went up by 3.10 per cent to close at Rs 1,967.60.

In terms of equity volume, 10.67 lakh shares of the company were traded on BSE and over 63 lakh shares changed hands on NSE during the day.

Mortgage lender HDFC Ltd today reported over two-fold jump in its consolidated net profit at Rs 6,677.06 crore for third quarter ended December 2017.
 

The company's consolidated net profit in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal stood at Rs 2,728.66 crore.

Total income (consolidated) rose to Rs 16,846.77 crore during the period under review, as against Rs 14,988.87 crore in the same period of 2016-17, the company said in a regulatory filing.
