A head constable has been booked for allegedly selling confiscated liquor here, police said today.
Following a complaint that some policemen were engaged in selling confiscated liquor, SSP Dharmendra Singh raided Kavi Nagar police station today around 1 PM, SHO Kavi Nagar Ashok Shishidia said.
The SSP quizzed some policemen about the sale of the liquor, during which head constable Yamuna Prasad Yadav fled from the office, he said.
An FIR under section 409 IPC (criminal breach of trust by public servant) was registered against him and a departmentalinquiryhas also been instituted against Yadav, he said, adding he will be nabbed soon.
