A 46-year-old head constable was killed in celebratory firing on the occasion of a child naming ceremony in Ankit Vihar area here, police said today.
The head constable, Rishipal had gone to attend the function at his cousin brother's place yesterday when an unidentified person opened firing, killing him on the spot, they said.
The accused fled from the spot, police said, adding further investigations are on.
