A 47-year-old high school headmaster was today arrested here for allegedly attempting to molest a ninth standard girl student, police said here.
There were oral complaints about Victor, Head Master of St. Theresa's High school at Fingerpost on the city outskirts and also a priest at a local church, that he used to make sexual overtures to girl students, they said.
The girl student complained to her parents yesterday that Victor had asked her to pull up the zip of her jerkin and then reportedly pulled it up himself, they said.
Hearing about the incident, some students belonging to pro-CPI-M youth outfit DYFI ransacked the school and an activist lodged a complaint about the alleged molestation, they said.
Some parents and relatives of girl students also jointly gave a petition to the police, alleging that Victor used to misbehave with the students, police said.
Based on the complaints, Victor was arrested this evening, they said.
