Samsul Haque Mazumdar, headmaster of Dubakhata Lower Primary School in Lakhipur sub-division of Cachar, was entrusted the responsibility of constructing the school building of Singerband Harijanpara Lower Primary School and a fund of Rs 2.75 lakh was allocated for the building under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Block Elementary Education Officer of the area Gopinath Sinha said.
There was prima facie evidence of misappropriation of development fund of the school by the headmaster and an FIR was lodged at Lakhipur police station.
He was produced before the chief judicial magistrate here today and sent to judicial custody.
