The district administration today suspended a school headmaster at Jermundi in Dumka district in the wake of a road blockade by students along with their parents in protest against his alleged act to ask them fetch cigarettes and liquor.
A district official said the headmaster Srikant Choudhury was suspended in the wake of road blockade along Basukinath-Bhagalpur route by students of Upgraded Middle School, Bogli along with their parents and villagers for over five hours yesterday.
The squatters demanded immediate action against the headmaster, further alleging he used to come to school in an inebriated state.

The protestors further said the accused collected money from students on the pretext of issuing identity card.
The students and villagers agreed to withdraw the blockade only when Tudu along with police force reached the spot and ordered issuing suspension of the Headmaster with immediate affect.
Police initially detained the Headmaster but let him off soon following his suspension, he added.
