Headmistress suspended

The headmistress of a Panchayat Union Middle School was suspensed today for allegedly throwing chappels at a teacher.

Eduction Department sources said the headmistress G Selvarani found that the teacher Kalaiyarasan had not marked the attendance of students in the register on January 6.

When she asked about it to Kalaiyarasan, there was an heated argument between them and the irked headmistress thrown her chapels at him, the sources said.

Kalaiyarasan lodged police complaint. The teachers association also urged the Education Department to conduct an inquiry against the incident.

Dharmapuri District Elementary Education Officer R Saminathan ordered suspension of Selvarani after conducting an inquiry, the sources said.
