Organised jointly by the departments of state Health and Family Welfare and Women and Child Development and supported by the UNICEF, the June 1 to 30 campaign would provide Vitamin A supplements and de-worming tablets (Albendazole) to children aged between 1 to 5 years, a UNICEF press release said.
The other components of this campaign were routine immunisation for missed out children, screening of children (6 months-5 years) for severe acute malnutrition, iron tablets for pregnant and lactating mothers and adolescent boys and girls and testing of household salt samples in eight districts with a high prevalence of iodine deficiency disorders-Ranchi, Pakur, Dumka, Sahebganj, Palamu, Deoghar, Godda, Gumla and Lohardaga.
Speaking at the programme, the Chief Minister appealed to all to make the campaign a success, the release added.
