Health team inspect private and govt hospitals

Delhi government's Health Department officials today inspected a number of private and government hospitals and found irregularities and service deficiencies at several places.

Strict action was intiatied against private hospitals like Rockland hospital in Dwarka and Max Super Speciality hospital in Patparganj for flouting various norms, said a press release issued by Delhi government today.

Two government hospitals-- Sanjay Gandhi Memorial hospital in Mangolpuri and Jag Pravesh Chandra hospital in Shastri Park were also found violating rules.

Decoy customers were sent to see proper service delivery and rational prescription in government hospitals.

The officials emphasised treatment of economically weaker sections as per their entitlement in private hospitals and better service delivery in government hospitals.
 

Apart from that 19 officers from the Drugs Control Department supported by police personnel found chemist shops in Yusuf Sarai, near AIIMS and opposite GTB hospital flouting rules.

In two shops, registered pharmacists were found absent and firms were found selling schedule-H drugs in their absence, whereas law requires selling of such drugs under the supervision of registered pharmacist, press statement said.

Legal samples of 15 drugs were taken for analysis in Drug Testing lab.

Six firms were found not maintaining the records of Schedule-H1 drugs and two firms were foundnot maintaining records of Schedule H1 drugs in prescribed format as per the rule.

Notices for relevant discrepancies and contravention of the rules are being issued to the shops and action will be taken subsequently, said the press release.
