As the judicial magistrate of CBI court Shubhra Singh was on leave, the case was postponed till July 27 by the in-charge judge, senior public prosecutor Hemant Shukla told reporters.

During earlier hearing on July 2, Keshav Das, father of slain IPS officer Narendra Kumar Singh, had raised a question mark over the investigation by the CBI and filed a petition seeking a fresh investigation in the case.

Suspected mining mafia member and main accused Manoj Gurjar had allegedly mowed down 32-year-old Singh who was posted as sub-divisional officer of police at Barmore in Morena district on March 8 when he tried to intercept a tractor-trolley laden with illegally mined stones.

The CBI had filed a charge sheet in the case on June 6 and charged Gurjar under section 304 (culpable homicide) and 353 (obstructing government work) of IPC and motor vehicle act.
