Hearing on bail plea of bomb blast accused posted to Jan 7

A special court here today posted to January 7 the hearing on the bail plea of an accused in the serial bomb blasts case here who was arrested after being at large for more than 15 years.

When the petition by S Kunju Mohammed, arrested three months ago, came up before the court, the prosecution opposed the bail plea and discharge petition, pointing to the long period of his absconding.

Kunju Mohammed alias Kunhi Mohammed, wanted in the case, was arrested in Kerala in October by the Special Investigation Unit of CB-CID.

He has been charged with transporting the explosives and harbouring some of those involved in the blasts which had rocked the city on February 14, 1998, claiming 58 lives and injuring over 200 people.
 

After hearing agruments, First Additional District Judge, Shaktivel posted the case to January 7.
