Heat conditions continued in western Odisha as Bolangir was the hottest place in the state today while the temperature dropped considerably in coastal belt though high level of humidity caused discomfort.
With a maximum temperature of 42.5 degree celsius, Bolangir turned out to be the hottest place in the state, followed by Hirakud, also in western region, which recorded 42.1 degree celsius, the meteorological centre here said.
The industrial belt of Jharsuguda recorded a maximum temperature of 41.5 degree celsius while the mercuty stood at 41.3 degree in Sambalpur, it said.

In the capital city of Bhubaneswar, the temperature stood at 39.4 degree celsius, while relative humidity remained as high as 87 per cent.
The temperature in Cuttack was 38.8 degree celsius while it was 37.4 degree C in Balasore.
