Amritsar sizzled at 44.5 degrees Celsius, eight notches above normal.
Besides, Hisar settled at a high of 44.1 deg C, five notches above normal.
Chandigarh braved a high of 42.5 deg C, seven notches above normal, the maximum temperature at Ambala was 42.1 deg C, seven notches above normal.
Among other places, Rohtak sizzled at a high of 45 deg C, six notches above normal followed by 44.7 deg C at Narnaul, six notches above normal.

The Met forecast rains at isolated places in the region during the next 24 hours.
