Heat wave back after few days of relief, max temperature rises

After few days of temporary relief, heat wave is back in Punjab and Haryana, as maximum temperatures in most places rose today, with Hisar sizzling at 43 degrees Celsius.

Chandigarh also experienced a hot day recording a high of 41 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal limits, the MeT Department report said here.

Hisar in Haryana was hotter by a notch against normal.

Among other places in Haryana, Ambala's maximum settled at 42.3 degrees Celsius, up three notches against normal.

Karnal too had a hot day at 42 degrees Celsius, up two notches.

In Punjab, Ludhiana braved a hot day at 42.6 degrees Celsius, up by three notches.
 

Amritsar and Patiala also experienced a hot day recording above normal maximums of 40.3 degrees Celsius and 42 degrees Celsius.

The weather is likely to be dry in Haryana and Punjab over the next two days, according to the MeT forecast.
