Heat wave claims two lives in Jaipur

The blistering heat wave sweeping Rajasthan claimed two lives here.

A rag picker and a beggar were found dead yesterday due to suspected heat stroke, police said today.

The rag picker fainted at Transport Nagar circle. People tried to help him and sprinkled water on his face but he did not survive. The name, Bhagwan Sahay, was embossed on his arm, they said.

An unidentified person, who appeared to be a beggar, was found dead outside a shop near a school in Jhotwara area around 1400 hrs yesterday, they said.

The bodies have been kept in a mortuary for identification.
 

Jaipur has been sizzling with temperatures crossing 46 degrees Celsius during the last one week.

The maximum temperature was 46.2 degrees Celsius yesterday.
