Heat wave conditions prevailed in steel city and surrounding areas in East Singhbhum district with the temperature hovering over 40 degree celsius.
According to Met department sources, the maximum temperature went up to 43 degree celsius in Jamshedpur today.
The streets of the steel city wore a deserted look in the afternoon as people remained indoors.
