Haryana and Punjab continued to sizzle under scorching heat with maximum temperatures hovering above the normal levels as Hisar remained the hottest at 45.4 degrees Celsius today.
There was no relief from the ongoing heat conditions, with Hisar in Haryana hotter by three degrees than normal, the MeT Department said here.
Narnaul braved an extremely hot day at 43.3 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal while Karnal sweltered at 42.4 degrees Celsius, up three degrees.

In Punjab, heat wave swept holy city Amritsar, which recorded a maximum temperature of 43.2 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal.
Ludhiana recorded a maximum temperature of 42.6 degrees Celsius and Patiala residents also braved the hot weather at 42.3 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal.
Chandigarh, the common capital of Punjab and Haryana, experienced a hot day. The maximum temperature settled at 41.7 degrees Celsius, four notches up than normal.
Unscheduled power cuts have added to the woes of the people in Chandigarh and some parts of the neighbouring states.
In Chandigarh, many residents complained about unscheduled power cuts in the southern Sectors.
According to the MeT forecast, weather is likely to remain dry in the two states including Chandigarh over the next few days. However, there is a possibility of dust storm/ thunderstorms at isolated places in Haryana and Punjab in the next 24 hours.
