Heat wave continues in Punjab, Haryana

Chandigarh was hot and humid recording a high of 41.2 degree Celsius, two degrees above normal, the MeT said here.

Ambala (41.5 C), Bhiwani (41.8 C) and Rohtak (41.9 C) registered a slight dip in the maximum temperature but sweltering heat prevailed in Hisar at 43 deg C.

Amritsar and Ludhiana in Punjab were very hot recording above normal maximums of 43.3 deg C and 43.5 deg C, respectively.

Patiala registered a high of 42.7 deg C, up three notches.

The MeT has forecast dust storm or thunder storm with light rain likely to occur at isolated places in the two states during the next two days.
