Heat wave continues in Punjab,Haryana; Bhiwani sizzles at 44.6

Sweltering heat conditions prevailed across Punjab and Haryana, with maximum temperature rising by few notches above normal at various places in both the states.

Bhiwani in Haryana was the hottest place in both states with maximum temperature settling at 44.6 degree Celsius, MeT department said here today.

Hisar and Karnal recorded a maximum of 43.5 degree Celsius and 41 degree Celsius respectively, up by two notches above normal.

Maximum recorded day temperature at Ambala was 40.3 degree Celsius, one notch above normal.

In Punjab, Amritsar saw mercury settling at 32.8 degree Celsius, down by 6 degrees below normal as the city recorded a rainfall of 0.7 mm.
 

Mercury in Ludhiana settled at 38 degree Celsius while Patiala witnessed 41.1 degree Celsius, up by two notches above normal.

Chandigarh recorded a maximum of 38 degree Celsius today.

The weatherman has predicted dust-storm or thunderstorm at isolated places in Punjab and Haryana in the next 24 hours.
