Kota was another city that experienced the season's maximum temperature of 44.5 degrees Celsius, while Barmer and Churu were at 43.6 degrees Celsius.

Elsewhere, the maximum temperature was above 40 degrees Celsius in most parts of the state. Western regions of Barmer, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Churu, Bikaner and Srigangangar remained in the grip of the blistering heat wave.

No respite is expected from the scorching heat wave condition in the next 24 hours in the state, a forecast said.
