Heat wave continues in Rajasthan, Churu sizzles at 47 deg C

Rajasthan reeled under hot weather conditions today with mercury settling at above 43 degrees Celsius in most parts of the state.

However, the maximum temperature in comparison to yesterday saw a dip by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius.

Churu was the hottest place in the state, recording its maximum at 47 degrees Celsius, followed by 45.6 degrees Celsius in Pilani and 44.6 degrees Celsius in Sriganganagar, the MeT Department said here.

Mercury in Bikaner and Kota settled at 44.5 and 44.4 degrees Celsius respectively, it said.

Jaisalmer and Jaipur too braved a hot day with their maximum temperatures at 44 and 43.4 degrees Celsius respectively. Ajmer and Jodhpur recorded their maximum temperatures at 41 degreed Celsius each, the weatherman said.
 

The Department has predicted rain/thunderstorm likely over the isolated places in the state.
